Hosting server(back to index)I know this is not related to folder blog directly, but I've checked some of the web sites "featured" on folderblog.org, and they're all pretty fast. I'm using icdsoft.com, which is cheap but the response time is not very consistent and I'd like to switch to a better service. Do u guys have some suggestions?
thx

I use OnSmart Network, which I would recommend wholeheartedly. Free databases, subdomains, et cetera, and 24-hour tech support. It's what the demo blogs, my personal pages, and the folderblog site all run on. (Full disclosure: If you sign up for a year's contract by clicking the link in the right-hand column of this site, I'll make some money for the referal.)
That said, the ultimate in budget webhosting with all the goodies is
dreamhost. I don't use it because of some technical backend things (PHP-as-CGI) and because I live on OnSmart's live chat support, but it should run the latest version of folderblug with no problem.

I burned through five different webhosting companies over eighteen months and kept leaving them for one reason or another, the main one being their servers were too slow.
I used hostpulse.com to search for a 'fast' php webhost and ended up at
phpwebhosting.com. Their response time was consistently at 10 to 12 milliseconds rather than the usual 20 - 30 with most other websites.
That was 1999. I haven't switched since.
