almanac- pics+archive not working.(back to index)Okay, here's the deal. I've been tweaking this template for 2 days now (i'm slow) and haven't run into any problems, until now. When the picture is clicked, or the "previous" link is clicked. It says it can't be found. If the archive link is clicked, that also can't be found.
The thing is, it's all there. In fact, it was working just hours ago. And I may be losing my mind, but I honestly don't recall changing any links or anything that may affect that.
Also, not as major, but my rss feed isn't working. I'm a novice at all of this, and I don't know what's needed to start that up, but it would be great if you could tell me how to do that too. Right now it's just a blank .xml doc

I'd appreciate any help.
If you need any of my php files or whatever else, let me know which ones.

After banging my head all day, I finally found the problem. It didn't like some things in my .htaccess file.
Can anyone help with my XML question now?

The XML question was stated above. The feed simply does not seem to exist. I have the XML file on the server but can't figure out how to get it to update. It remains at 0kb.
I've also run into another problem. My "previous/next" navigation on the top of the page dissappear in IE. I can't seem to find out why.

Did you give the right permissions to the XML file?

I think so. It's set to 777, is that right?

Look, I think everyone is misunderstanding me.
There needs to be something IN the xml file to tell it what to update with, no? Some sort of variables to say to maybe place a thumbnail here, a title here, etc.. Right? It's a BLANK file. I need someone to tell me what I need to put in it to get it to actually do something.. All I want this thing to do is update with the image title, and thumbnail. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

your xml file shouldn't be blank! download it again and try uploading it.

Hi Mark!
I'm sorry I can't help you with the XML problem as I too am a novice. Personally, I don't use the RSS-function for my folderblog. I guess I'm old-fashioned. :-P
Anyway, I'd really, really like to know how you managed to remove the annoying "/image/" directory! Could you share it with the rest of us?

With the Almanac template, there's 2 versions that come bundled in the zip file. The regular version and the "short url" version. I just used the short url version.

Since I'm located in München and was planning to use that script for one of my sites wich is about Models in München I'm happy that the problem with the previous/next is gone now. I'm happily starting to include your script now. Thanks Donald.
Wow, that would be a replacement for my current gallery. I find it more advanced. Thanks for putting much effort in creating this wonderful script.
