What types of changes? Is it just template/style/layout changes?

yes. any change that i make to the codes for changing layout or information display, the comments link stops working. even if i do undo so that everything goes back to what it used to be and then upload the file again, the problem still remains. the only way to fix it then is to download the orginal file and upload it again!
