much more interesting is, that the featured elwing has copied my whole website nearly 1 to 1, apart from the content. my homepage, my blog-theme, my folderblog-theme. even some static text.
hmm... strange. but why not...

that is interesting jowra. you should get the credit for the design. your site should be featured instead not this garbage that nick calls "art".

Jowra's site is published under a Creative Commons licence that allows others to copy and make derivative works from it, and his designs were a great inspiration, which I'm grateful for. My one unintentional mistake was the omission of a proper credit, which has been applogised for and corrected. Had he wished for his work to be removed I'd have acquiesced without complaint, but he didn't and so I'm doubly indebted to him.
The debate on whether my site is art, porn or something else I'll leave for others to decide for themselves. All I'll say on that score is that I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the Internet is a forum for the freedom of expression. Zakk 's critique is the only bad review I've recieved, and I'm frankly amazed (and flattered!) to even be mentioned, let alone featured.
I give my thanks to everyone!

Thanks for the comments, all. The only hesitation I had featuring the blog was whether to put up a big NSFW warning to keep anyone from getting in trouble at the office.
jowra, that's really one of the most classy templates I've seen (three cheers for creative commons!). I've added your site to the feature queue for next week.

Elwing you're right, maybe I was just suprised to see, that somebody has adopted my webdesign completly. On the other side I'm somewhat glad that you like my design and the net is big enough to keep 2 websites of that style. ;-) As I wrote on your site: The content itself is interesting and the pictures are really good, certainly there are always some people that may be offended by such pics, but I agree with nick, for me it's kind of art... so don't worry.
And Donald: Thanks a lot! I'm happy to hear that you like my folderblog-template. :-)
Cheers,
John

After trying a host of blog and gallery solutions, I settled on WordPress and Folderblog, as they seem the best all round, for ease of use and features. After that, the quest was simply to make them look good and knit them together seamlessly, and Jowra's design does this without overpowering the content. Extending that to the home page seemed the natural way to go, for me, and I like to think that the few tweaks I've made have enhanced things (and I'm still tinkering!).
I got a bit carried away with messing with the code, while rambling on the journal, and the site got hits before I was really ready for it to go live. It was all a case working out how things were done, fixing up the code so it did what I wanted, throwing on some content to see it all in action, then worry about my own design later (and just as Jowra based his on the Kubrick theme, I'd intended to base mine on his fine work).
I've no idea who suggested adding my Folderblog section to the feature list here, and I'm still in shock about seeing it! It's given me the incentive to work on Folderblog 3 (downloaded today!), so that Fotobuzz and Jowra's theme lace into it, along with all my other little additions. If Donald will permit it, I'll document my progess for the wiki here, if anyone is interested.

Elwing, go for it. The wiki is there just for that purpose: a community-built information hub for all things folderblog. You don't need my clearance to post anything to it.
